Earth, Fire, Air, Water

Sometimes we marvel at how the sauna, in its simplicity, can be a place where so much magic happens. Perhaps it's in this simplicity that we learn to appreciate the small things and find joy in what is present. Not many things can happen in a sauna either, because all movement should be calm to avoid getting burned. Maybe it's in this calmness that we encounter ourselves, seeing ourselves from both the outside and within. We feel our pulse quicken, our muscles relax, our senses sharpen, and our body works to keep our temperature down. Our inner core receives a massage, opening up the flow in an attempt to restore what is happening in the body.

On a deeper level, we believe that something happens in the entire experience, an experience that includes the elements of earth, fire, air, and water. When these elements are in balance, something extraordinary takes place, regardless of the context you find yourself in. It is a meditative experience, and in that meditative state, something extraordinary occurs. In today's society, these moments are becoming increasingly rare as we constantly find ourselves amidst a flurry of digital or intense life experiences.

In our encounters with guests during the Gruvfrun's Sauna Ritual, we often hear that many find it difficult to stay in the sauna, perhaps due to an inherent restlessness within their bodies. However, during the ritual, they can relax in a new way. Perhaps, next time, listening to Alexia Chellun's song, "The Power Is Here Now," can help you experience the elemental journey that the sauna offers. In what other contexts, apart from the sauna, do we experience all four elements simultaneously?

The song with the beautiful words is quoted below.

The power of love is here now
The power of now is here now
The power of you and me is here
To create magic on earth

Let the water wash away your tears
Let the fire burn away your fears
Let the wind blow into your life such faith and trust
Let the earth hold you, take care of you and nurture you
